I love how when anyone talks about Aang in LoK it’s all “aw yer, what a sweet guy.” But then all the flashbacks are of him super pissed off. Oh, and someone needs to message Katara to come get her husband out of the Avatar State.

i’ve got to induldge in some aang feels. i was not expecting aang to look like that. my older!aang headcanon was always him being tall, leanly built with a clean shaven face that was well defined. in reality he’s got cheek bones that could qualify him to be a metalbender, an incredibly well sculptured beard and is pretty beefed up. he isn’t ridiculously muscular, he’s definitely still got that quite lean body build, but you tell he filled out really well.  the flashback also takes place when he is 41. when he’s had all three of his kids. i’m not sure i could handle if they flashbacked to when he is 20. i’m not sure how they would make him hotter. maybe sparkles or something.  and i’m so happy we’re going to be getting a significant plotline with older!gaang. something happened 42 years ago that is important for what is happening now. whether it be a parallel in how korra should handle amon, or if yakone actually has direct relationship to amon. either way, we’re definitely going to be seeing more of aang.

I think this is what people were talking about. I’ve got to say I’m not surprised, I don’t have overwhelming confidence in Gene Yang’s writing and it seems neither does this reviewer.
