erm. you inferred wrong. 

it’s not the crying, it’s the fact that it’s the main thing she did to get her bending back. in the history of struggles characters have gone through to redeem what they have lost, i think sitting on a cliff and crying is quite lowdown on the list, at least for me. so no, it’s not the act of crying, but rather what she accomplishes from just doing that.
