Dude, what was the point of Mako and Asami even being together in the first place? Why couldn’t she have been introduced as an independent character outside of a relationship? Seriously, their relationship had no point except to provide forced drama for a really boring and irritating love triangle. 

Seriously though. Instead of spending 85% of her screentime making kissy faces and then sad faces at Mako they could have explored her relationship with her father and what it was like to join a group of benders in a fight against an anti-bender revolution.
