rooniesays said: in an earlier post, you rated the legend of korra 7.5 out of 10. based on the same criteria, what would you rate A:TLA?

I’d give it a 9.0. A:TLA is by far the best piece of animated entertainment I’ve ever seen. The pacing, character development, action and romance were consistently compelling and I don’t think I would have to justify that to anyone who follows this blog.

However it’s unfair to compare the two scores, Korra has only had 7 episodes, where as we’ve had 61 of A:TLA. And if Korra follows the same trend as its predecessor it should get stronger as the season goes on.

The only thing I’m slightly worried about, and this might be slightly sacrilegious, is the fact that only Mike and Bryan are writing Korra. A:TLA had so many people refining and debating the story, and lots of ideas were pitched by people that weren’t Bryke. If Mike and Bryan had been solely writing Avatar, Toph would have been a muscular male teenager. While Korra is a pure expression of their will, sometimes I wonder what changes would have been made if there were more people on the writing team.

# although with korra being at 7 episodes # i connect that to where atla was at 13/14 episodes because korra has shorter season and the development has to go faster # and id say that atla is stronger at 1x13 to where korra is now
