People seem to have been misinterpreting what I said. My argument was that if the basis of a female’s character is her romantic relationships it just typically doesn’t make for good or progressive writing. 

Korra, as far as I can tell, is not going to be anything like that. Mike and Bryan love their romance (or as you put it, “get it in with Katara”, im loling) but they also combine it with amazing storytelling. Korra is not going to be an object, I’m certain of that.
