Thought I’d ramble about The Promise for a bit. Spoilers obviously!

• The art is really good. I know I took the piss out of Katara’s face, but the vast majority of it feels really authentic. Plus the characters do look older. Aang’s gotten a lot taller, Zuko looks like a 90s boy band pop star and all the panels feel pretty alive.
• The humour is actually pretty good. Sokka and Toph have the best lines as usual. Although I will never quite understand Sokka’s utter disdain for PDA. We get it dude. But remember when you and Suki stuck your tongues down each others throats for a good couple of minutes, in front of everyone. 
• 
• No, but seriously the Kataang in the comic is great. They are ridiculously adorable and comfortable with each. Despite being in a relationship for over a year they’re still in ‘honeymoon’ phase and enjoying it. I know things are going to go a bit wrong in the next Parts of The Promise, but for now it’s great to see them just be happy, together. 
•  Really nice touch. I bet Aang made it himself as well. 
• The storyline despite its flaws is actually very enjoyable and thought provoking. I’m really looking forward to the meeting with the Earth King cause you just know shit is going to hit the metaphorical fan. The good thing about Zuko regaining his crown as the King of bad decisions is it really entertaining stuff. 
• There’s just lots of little things in the comic that give a great indication as to what we’ve missed. Zuko’s throwaway line about almost being murdered 5 times always makes me lol.
